About The Program

  • The Start in Gwinnett program is a series of five, two-hour sessions, held weekly at the Gwinnett Entrepreneur Center.
  • Sessions may be conducted during daytime or evening hours. please note the time listed on the schedule.
  • To ensure maximum value, this course is only available in person.
  • To fulfill the program objectives and advance their business, participants should expect to spend an additional one to two hours per week on tasks and action items.

Who Should Participate?

  • You have a great idea for a business but you're not sure where to begin and want to do things correctly.
  • You've already started a business but may have missed a few steps, or need some help getting things moving.
  • You do not want to commit to a membership at the Center, but do want to seriously work on your business.

Participants will work on several areas of starting their business, some of which include:

  • Business identity: Name, logo, tagline, mission/vision statements
  • Developing a Business Model Canvas
  • Start-up costs & considerations
  • Pricing your products & services
  • Competitor analysis, unique service proposition, identifying your target market and finding your customers
  • Developing a good pitch, marketing and sales
  • Federal, State, Local, Professional Licensing & Annual Registrations
  • Business structure, Taxes & Insurance
  • Capital Access, Making your business loan ready
  • Finding the right Software/Vendors; Bookkeeping, Invoicing, Banking, Scheduling
