Having a great business idea just isn't enough, and starting properly is vital to your success and this program is designed to assist you with doing just that, starting properly.

Whether you're considering taking the leap into business ownership, you've started a business and need some reassurances, or your business has just stalled and you want to get it moving again, the Start in Gwinnett program is a smart step for you. 


About The Program

  • The Start in Gwinnett program is a series of five, two-hour sessions, held weekly at the Gwinnett Entrepreneur Center.
  • Sessions will be conducted in the evening from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.
  • Each cohort will have a maximum of 20 participants.
  • An additional time commitment of approximately one-two hours per week can be expected in order to complete tasks and action items to further the program objectives and their business.


Who Should Participate?

  • You have a great idea for a business but you're not sure where to begin and want to do things correctly.
  • You've already started a business but may have missed a few steps, or need some help getting things moving.
  • You do not want to commit to a membership at the Center, but do want to seriously work on your business.

Some of What You Can Expect

Participants will work on several areas of starting their business, some of which include:

  • Business identity: Name, logo, tagline, mission/vision statements
  • Developing a Business Model Canvas
  • Budget development, start-up costs & considerations
  • Break-even analysis, pricing your products & services
  • Competitor analysis, your unique service proposition, identifying your target market and finding your customers
  • Federal, State, Local, Professional Licensing & Registrations & Professional services
  • Business structure, Taxes & Insurance
  • Capital Access, Making your business loan ready
  • Finding the right Software/Vendors; Bookkeeping, Invoicing, Banking, Scheduling

There is no fee to participate but attendance and participation is mandatory

While we understand that life happens, as participant seats for this program are limited, we ask that you be absolutely sure that you can commit to all five session dates so we may assist as many people as possible. This course will be held again.
