Known as the graphic design tool for the non-designer, this online, free graphic tool is used by small businesses to create everything from brochures, flyers, social media posts and business cards, through presentations and logos.

The Gwinnett Entrepreneur Center is pleased to offer a series of workshops to assist you with leveraging this cost-effective and valuable tool. No design experience is needed, and we invite you to take part in any or all of the sessions offered that cover a wide range of Canva skill levels.

This first workshop in the Canva series will serve as a beginner's guide to understanding the many uses of this online graphic tool. Use this session to learn all that Canva can do for you and your design projects.  This session is great for those just getting started or those that want to learn more.

    • Understanding the difference between the FREE and PAID (Pro) Account 
    • Finding your way around the Canva dashboard
    • The many types of things you can design in Canva
    • Templates: how to search, find and use the 250,000+ (600,000+ with Pro) available
    • Set up your own brand kit to easy keep all your designs on brand
    • Customizing and changing the colors in any design
    • Text: selecting, editing and adding effects and animation to your text
    • Images: searching from hundreds of thousands of free graphics and images
    • Uploading your own images, videos or audio
    • Importing from Dropbox, Google drive, Facebook, Hubspot, Flickr & More.
    • Naming, organizing and copying your files
    • Printing, sharing and saving your designs



Ready to take your designs to the next level? Great, because this session will introduce you to even more tools available to help with your designs. Get ready to explore and understand the many uses of CANVA’s elements, organizing tools and resources.

    • Embedding a clickable link in your design.



In Session 3 we focus solely on using Canva to design incredible graphics, videos, GIFs and more for use in your social media marketing!  Learn how to make use of the templates to design, schedule and post directly to your platforms.

  • Connecting your social media accounts to Canva
  • Posting directly to social media
  • Scheduling posts to social media
  • Magic resize for sharing on multiple platforms
  • Using video, animation and audio in your design

    • Facebook Cover
    • Instagram Post



This session will dive even deeper into some of the more popular design options in Canva and focus on the specifics, tools and possibilities with each.  We will walk you through using Canva to design a logo, business cards, presentations, proposals, infographics and more.
