Session 1: Business Model Canvas Workshop

Time: 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM

The Business Model Canvas (BMC) is a strategic tool that helps businesses visualize their key components in a clear, one-page format. This interactive workshop will guide you through the nine key areas of the BMC, helping you:

  • Identify your core business activities, resources, and value proposition
  • Develop a sustainable strategy for growth and market entry
  • Strengthen customer relationships and optimize partnerships
  • Improve decision-making for startups and established businesses alike

This workshop is perfect for startups, small businesses, and organizations launching new products or entering new markets.

Session 2: SBA Interactive Roundtable – Q&A with the SBA

Time: 2:30 PM – 3:30 PM

Join this small-group Q&A session with SBA experts to get direct insights into SBA programs, funding opportunities, and business growth strategies. You’ll have the opportunity to ask specific questions and get personalized guidance on:

  • Loan Programs – SBA-backed funding options like 7(a) loans, microloans, and CDC/504 loans
  • Government Contracting – How to secure and compete for federal contracts
  • Business Development – Free counseling, training, and growth support

Presenting the Business Model Canvas

Bart Njoku-Obi, Business Opportunity Specialist, US SBA Georgia District Office.

Bart works in the SBA Georgia District Office in Atlanta. Prior to joining SBA, he garnered 18+ years of experience spanning organizational strategy, business model analysis, operations improvement, teaming, and legal counsel. He is entrepreneurial-minded with management or project experience at venture-funded technology startups and large enterprises, coupled with public service in regulatory compliance. He has consulted with firms in Silicon Valley CA, Research Triangle Park NC, Atlanta GA, and overseas.

Bart is a Certified Global Business Professional (CGBP) by NASBITE International, and a Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE) by the American Society for Quality. He earned his MBA from Wake Forest University in Information Technology Management and E-Business, and Juris Doctor from North Carolina Central University School of Law. His undergraduate degrees are from NC State University in Economics and Agricultural Economics. Bart is licensed legal counsel in California, North Carolina, and Georgia.



About the Roundtable Facilitator

Jeffrey Patterson

Jeff Patterson has been an advocate for small business his entire career which spans over 35 years.

From his many years as a banking executive, to his time spent as a mentor and coach for some of Georgia’s most promising small businesses while directing Georgia State University’s SBDC, he has intuitively seen the opportunity to help those entrepreneurs grow our economy and our communities. He has served as subject matter expert on evaluating financial statements, cash flow, and international methods of payment.

A respected and credible voice in the banking and economic development industries has allowed strategic and collaborative partnerships to have been built during Jeff’s tenue as part of the U.S Small Business Administration’s Georgia District Office Management Team. Jeff has educated stakeholders, resource partners, special interest groups, community leaders and small business owners throughout the State of Georgia on how best to access SBA programming.

Jeff has his financial brokerage and insurance licenses as well as his Commercial Lending Diploma from RMA.

He earned his BA, Business Management from the University of North Georgia and an MBA at Brenau University.
